Please help me to understand how Tenacity and Potency work.

Question

My General Kenobi went up against the a Zader team.

My Kenobi has 90% tenacity. Full set and the cross primary.

Every. Single. Debuff landed on him. Stun. DoTs. Slow. Shock.

Only one that didn't land was tenacity down from tie pilot because he didn't crit.

What in the serious f$&@ is going on?

Chance to resist = tenacity - potency.
Chance to resist cannot go below 15%

So gk with 90% tenacity has it all negated by 75% potency.
Maxed Vader base potency is 31%.

So say they only have potency cross for 24%

90%-55% = 35% chance to resist. That is pretty low.

Thanks for explaining that. It's seems stupid (the formula) but it seems I'm just having awful luck at the moment. Tenacity sets are pretty useless it seems

Tenacity is very easy to overcome.
