The last ability under his contract states 3. Add payout: add defense penetration equal to 200% of Boba's defense penetration. It sounded pretty great, so I checked to see what his defense penetration...

these are the 2 gear pieces that add armor penetration but my ig88 has the "Mk 12 ArmaTek Bayonet" and his defense penetration is still 0.
thats why i think it actually goes off armor pen. instead of defense pen.
