returning players and needing advice from the community
TL;DR - I've just been in contact with EA support hoping that I could be moved to different PVP/ships arena shards. They say they can't do that. I think they should be able to and they should do it in certain cases.
Short background: I've played the game for a while, months, then I quit. I came back after more than a year.
After a week or so, I realized I can't really catch up unless I spend absurd amounts of money. That's not gonna happen. I did spend a few bucks (50 or so) in the past few days, silly me. That did help a bit, but that's about it. Let's not talk about my spending habits, please :)
I was never a whale or dolphin, i was pretty much F2P before I quit. I wasn't a top player by any means, I was just doing ok.
Now, i've contacted EA support asking for help and advice. The contact form didn't do much good, since the guy never understood what i wanted and did not try to help. Fortunately, there are others willing to try. Live Chat fella was helpful, props to him.
What i did ask was that:
A. Could I be moved to different PVP Squad shard and Ships shard?
or
B. If i did restart could I get some sort of compensation for the money spent in the past few days?
(Yes, I know this was a really long shot and yes, I know i should've thinked twice before giving them money).
The answers were NO and NO. While not unexpected, I was actually hoping that they would be able to do something for me, since I'm a long time EA customer.
Now, I am well aware of the problems posed by moving players to different shards, but still. I am a 700k GP player in a two year old shard?
As for the advice I would ask from you, what do you think I should do?
Should I start over, forget about the money spent (go ahead, I deserve it) and actually try to compete as a F2P with the new guys?
Should I hang in here and pretend I actually have a shot of doing well? I might, in a year or so. Doubt I can suck for this long and be ok with it :)
Would provide a swgoh.gg link, but its not updated yet.
Thoughts?
