Simple Solution to Event Farming
Just put the event characters in the shard shop. So for Thrawn, put phoenix in the shard shop for a week. For R2, put a selection of Empire characters in the shard shop. etc...

Unfortunately I had everyone but Leia good to go, and her farmability is limited by shop currency. I'm not top 3 in squad arena, but I consistently finish either top 50 or 60 so I get 10 shards a day. Even with the pack I'll fall 40 to 50 shards short of seven stars (if only I had one more week)... Nevertheless, it sucks, but that is life (no whining here).
But I see a lot of complaining and an easy fix is the shard shop. It would allow a player to drop everything for shard currency to speed up their farming for a week. I wouldn't even complain if the pack was the entry fee to shard shop farming(though I'm sure that most of the community would). It is a for profit game after all.
