Some thoughts on g12

The devs stated that g12 will be a huge stats improve to 7* toons.
Heroic raids, esp. Rancor became relatively easy to solo, even with g11 toons.
I am afraid that g12 will cause an overrun of these raids, becoming too easy for the lucky ones, who were able to get the highest gear level to the right toons.
So, this raises the question, what can we expect, will there be any change on the raids?
  • Are you suggesting a "Super Heroic" level for Rancor and AAT with a difficulty designed for G12 characters?

I avoided g11 so far, so I can beat gw easily with my 3 g10-9 teams, because I rarely get any good team composition as enemy.
So, this means I will prolong this strategy of mine, until I max star all of the more useful toons in gw.
    Thx for the thoughts.

This is not the best strategy. I helped someone with a newer F2P account, and directed them to:

    1. Build towards getting Zetas on farm from day one.

    2. Build a Resistance team, and slap that first Zeta on Finn.

An easy button for GW is the reward of doing things that way, and she doesn't have to be crippled in arena for an eternity sacrificing more important crystals for the sake of some GW tokens. (At least half of GW toons are terrible anyhow.)

To the OP, I've done so many hundreds of Rancor raids that I'm happy it can be autoed now. Gear 12 won't matter for that. The Rancor is already irrelevant, and the tank is easy.

My fear with the massive stat boosts that have been seen in some sneak peak videos is that we get into a situation similar to when mods came out. Total chaos and confusion created by a massive leap in power that invalidates previous work put into characters. I hope they learned the lesson of the mod catastrophe that nearly devastated my guild at the time. But hearing that single gear pieces were shown giving 6k health doesn't inspire confidence. It's kind of stomach turning.

I am also doing the latter two as well, I have zetaed Kylo and working on resistance slowly (have half of them ready)

The low power toons are the insurance that I never get Chaze teams. Even if I get one, it is easier to beat than a high speed Zaul team.
So far I have met with 2 Zaul and 1 Chaze team (not counting the one on node 1 with only g7 and low star count).
So, it works so far, but It costs that I have really hard time with light side hard 9 nodes in exchange.

You're saying g12 will make it even faster to solo Rancor than 6 minutes? Really. Who cares about the difference between 3 and 6 minutes. It's already a trivially short time to solo the raid. What they need to do is make Rancor's gear irrelevant so guilds no longer care about it, in much the same way that MMOs do when a new raid tier is released. So far CG has not done that. The gear grind is only longer and not allowing an easy route to do to the first tiers leaves Rancor just as important now as when it was released over a year ago.

The same goes for hAAT. It may not be trivially soloable right now, but given time, it should be. Toons get more powerful and that is good: that's the whole point of progression. The weird thing is to require people to still run old content.

I don't think it will be like mods.
Cuz g12 will be so hard to get.
Only way is to spend all new tokens on g12.
So yes it will drastically raise power but it will be very gradual cuz it will take so long to get g12 on a full arena sqaud

There wasn't any change to the Rancor raid besides implementing a better tie breaker mechanism.
    Spoiler
IMO, all they're doing is making territory battles end game content. Heroic Tank is no longer the end game raid. Newer players/guilds will still have it as a stepping stone, something they have to climb and conquer together.

Think of it as a mountain climbing expedition. Rancor was your Pico Bolivar, 4,978 meters tall. It took work to figure out how to safely climb that mountain. But eventually, as you trained and reached those heights and helped others in the guild do the same, it became easier.

Then you discovered Jengish Chokusu, 7,439 meters tall. That's your heroic tank raid. Another beast that took you and your guild to a whole new level to be able to conquer it and do so on a weekly basis.

Just because we're now finding Mount Everest doesn't mean that those guilds just now conquering Pico Bolivar will have any less of a challenge topping Jengish Chokusu. If they somehow managed to get a Commander Luke, they may have a head start on certain parts, but it'll still be a mountain for them to climb.

Our guild seems to have a supreme tie-breaker... our guild leader is brilliant for implementing it...
  • Hopefully a new raid will come out.

When I have Han 7 star I will just register a low score so guild members can get more Han shards but id like another raid besides the tank to concentrate on

    Cough At-At cough

Well, You got it. Any upgrade make raids easier and easier and yet all the loot is crucial for all of us, even guild tokens.
So the current situation is really weird, because they are easy but the payout is low, and there is a ~3 day limitation to do that in minutes (hours for HAAT).
It is really unbalanced as it is currently, and What I am concerned about is that the change what they do with TB will leave Raids unchanged. So after TB comes out every guild will have to double the efforts, because TB would come on the top of the Raids. We all would have to do both.
Because Raid gear is crucial. (For those toons who are still needing)
So, to get g12 you will still need g10-11 with 3-4 raid gear pcs per toon AND THEN start anorher long run for g12.
I have friends just started the game, and they say that it is not worhty to them to continue playing seeing that I on lv85 have still sooo much to work on.
They have a point, It is questionable that the efforts and time needed to be invested to progression is worthy.
And noone can argue with that money can be your advantage.
I estimilate that $100 000- $200 000 is the amount one needs to spend if one wants to try everything in a month.
What is more, the 'top of the mountain' they are setting up with g12 and TB they make us to climb the Pico Bolivar and the Jengish Chokusu every day meanwhile we try to get as much loot as possible from the Everest.
It is not just that you need to climbe them once and you are good to go. We all need to climb them regurally.
