The Reason to 7* and gear Phoenix beyond Thrawn

Brief history:
So I was able to get almost everyone to 7* (minus Sabine) through the double drops and constantly using GW, arena, etc. I also had shard shop currency to get the final shards of what I needed to make sure I had a chance to try the Thrawn event at 7*. (SWGOH.GG located at the bottom)

I ended up beating 7* Thrawn eventually.

THE ACTUAL POINT OF POST:

I had not been able to defeat any of the LS Hard Node 9's other than one starring 9-A. So I thought I would try with my new Pheonix Squad. I only have one ally that has GK, but he rarely shows on there. So I tried 9-B with Pheonix minus Sabine with my Ally's Wedge. I three starred it first try. Tried 9-C and 9-D with an Ally's Jyn, I three starred both first try. Went back to do 9-A with the GK and three starred it.

Other than GK all the other Ally leaders died in the second tier of each.

So for any new players or any players that can't beat the LS Hard 9's, I highly recommend you not only try to get Pheonix starred and geared for Thrawn. But I casually strolled through the part of the game I have never been able to beat until today.

Also as previously mentioned on other threads they are great for other Legendary events (Ezra and Kanan fit two other Legendary events, EP and Yoda, who you can then use Thrawn and EP for R2). They are also great for people that struggle to finish their GW. I finish (typically) node 11 with them at full health or nearly defeat 11 and let my arena team finish off the rest.

In summary the pro's of investing in Pheonix:
- Get Thrawn
- Easy GW
- Beat LS Hard Node 9 A-D easily
- Use Ezra and Kanan for other Legendaries (I would imagine whole Pheonix would handily defeat EP as well)
- Their ships once farmable (who knows when) look to be great
- They are fun and thats all that matters in the game

Here is my SWGOH.gg if you want to see the squad I used. Just before you criticize saying you couldn't have gotten this far by now I had a ton of Shard Shop currency left over after I got DN because I knew Phoenix was going to be next and I geared them from the start because I love the show.

Omg you have a 7* mob enforcer, ive never seen one Lol. But hey I have a 7* gear 10 lobot so I'm not hating. Actually lobot is useful as a cleanser for droids in aat raid, doesnt do much damage but keeps ig88 and crew alive till the enraged timer goes off. Im not saying he doesnt sukc just that I actually found a use for him lol

Back on topic, great post and good info about LS 9 hard nodes, I can not yet beat them and shoretrooper is the only toon I have not unlocked, I have hera gear11 and the rest gear8 long before thrawn so just been waiting on shards....

should come see my borrow list, one time I had 4 7* mob enforcers right next to each other

Thanks, I was really asking myself if I should continue farming them after the event. I have them all minus Sabine at 6*, Sabine only 4* because of shity RNG.

Also I understand that they are bad in raids, but still if I want to use them anyway, since I am a newer player and can't afford not to, at what faze in HAAT should I use them?

I use them in 2 & 4, 4 because they always have buffs on them. But they also do decent in 1. I mean they are definitely not like amazing at all for the AAT, but if you don't have many teams they work, I use them, just depends on RNG but I have gotten 1.2 mill on phase 2.

Lol, that's cool, but zJyn R1 teams do fairly well in Arena (I start at 50-ish and end at 20-ish every day), can finish GW at almost-full protection, and has use in raids.

Oh, same goes for Viva La Resistance.

But you need to get Baze in order for that to be true aka finishing 9-C.

Who cares about Baze anyway Resistance steamrolls every single pve content at the moment, even with really low gear. You only need a single zeta which is far from being that expensive. Resistance also makes you get useful mods, achieve humongous scores in raid and are way better than Phoenix when it comes to GWs.
Pure Phoenix can't compete at all in arena, which is a total waste of energy especially for a starting player. They really need these extra gems to get gear faster.

Very few toons care about tenacity mods and tbh i wouldn't trade a Wiggs for a Phoenix, they're useful everywhere and you'll get two strong pilots.
You need 6 Phoenix pilots to manage only 2 ships, i don't call that noob friendly. Phoenix are expensive and not performing that well in really useful content.

And by the way i don't have multiple viable teams (late December 2016 shard) so i know perfectly well what a newbie needs or not. They need credits, an easily farmed viable team for arena, useful mods and zeta challenge, Phoenix won't get you these.
