Didn't say he should go down in one round. But when you run probably the highest damage output team there is and can't take him out in TWO rounds even with all of your chars focusing him. Nothing says balance like bring up the same characters that you should use against any team "Use Dooku! Use QGJ! Use RG!" It gets old hearing the same babble just because you want to keep your OP chars intact.

If QGJ is OP now you need to reconsider your strategy.

You should replace RG with Poe or Han, first chance you get and see what happens. They're both better in offense than RG. Now please stop this non-sense. I was on board with Dooku, dodge had no counter. Seems they have found a counter to him, fortitude. My gut tells me Rey is going to be no1 problem soon. Other than that, there are 3 good tanks now.

Yeah, she is my big hitter by far right now, in the right situation. Would make me sad, but you are probably right, though she seems easy to stun, so maybe not

This! My 5* RG is a non pre-craft gear max, although I'm facing another 5* RG which is obviously pre-crafted. The difference in total health/protection is massive.
They've also pre crafted poggle, GS and daka it seems. Total team power with 86 is 32.5k :# which is 3k more than non-pre-craft.

Yea I was lucky enough to pre craft some gear, it makes a huge difference in my RG and QGJ. If only I had saved a syringe instead of equipping it then I would have gear 9 Han too, but that's #firstworldgohproblems.

Honestly I wouldn't have a huge problem with RG if the high health and the taunt were his only schtick. But when combined with team offense up (under rated post update IMO) and the constant stuns, he's got too much going for him.

@Dcmone1 Just like Dooku and the people who used to say "The best counter to Dooku is running Dooku yourself", that is not a way to balance a game. That is how you force people to use the same characters which is what ruins the game. You are right though, RG is the best way to fight RG.

It's still early, but I think the truth will be a little different. Barring specific team compositions, it seems like many arena teams will now benefit from (need) a taunting tank. I don't think RG will be on every team, once people gear up other tanks. He's just the tankiest tank, without investing too heavily, and which everyone starts with. I think ST han and even neutered-Poe will gain traction in Arena.

RG is further boosted in Arena by ability of AI to play him, properly.

Play a very tanky team. Pound on the dps. RG taunts then wait it out till it goes away in 2 rounds. It takes a while but be patient this has worked best for me.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think RG's taunt only lasts one round, but of course it depends on where his turn was. So it could last up to 2 rounds, but usually it's going to be around 1 and a half turns, ending on RG's second turn after the ally went below 50%. So there's another tip. Keep an eye on RG's turn meter when you are trying to take that DPS down to the green. If RG's turn meter is full, anyway, then you might risk overdoing it, knowing you will only have to wait out a single turn. Vs waiting for another toon with the "right amount of damage," but who will act directly after RG, hence triggering a full two RG-turn taunt if he leaves the toon in the yellow/red.

Plus, his unique makes him gain TM if any other ally takes damage. So if you have an AOE, you can even make his taunt wear off faster by speeding up RG, even if the AOE doesn't take out the damaged toon.

Have you seen how much RG at 7* gear 9 hits for? Its super weak...even with offense up.
I get your point though, but if your issue is with offense up boosting the rest of the dps, then your beef should lie with the characters granting offense up and how much of a damage increase offense up gives to the team.

There are many factors that may influence a user's perception of RG being OP.

Precrafted RG at gear 9- Those have a ton of hp and shield(40k+). A Rg at gear 8 has considerably less hp and shield. But that is an issue of precrafting, not character balance.

Damage was considerably nerfed in order to balance out ridiculous damage levels at level 80 gear 10. There is also a long lull to ability level 8 as not many f2p have reached level 76 and above, which could arguably provide more damage against current hp levels.Not many have also reached gear 10, which could have provided more stats and hp to deal with the current high hp pools. Should the game be balanced at all stages and gear level? Perhaps, but that is up for debate.

RG with the protection update is OP - no question about that. Doesn't matter his attack - opponent RG is just to stand there with his 40k+ hp like a statue, while you scratching him with all your team members until his dmg dealers are crushing them. Right now only the whales can afford good equipped and starred RG and cannot be beaten because of that. Yeah, sometimes your strategy can lead to a win, but in most cases it's a loss. RG need a nerf.
