In my shard I'm 50-20 by payout so would the last team be an upgrade on that?"DarthGirthios;c-1189130" wrote:

What's your team right now?- Quick question, how is your fleet arena going?
Reason I ask is because your best bet on a young shard is zMaul if you can put a zeta on him in the next month or so.
Your squad will look like:
zMaul, Sith Assassin, Savage Opress, Sith Trooper, and DN
Sith Assassin should be at least +90 speed (a speed set is the easiest way to achieve this). The rest should be about +70 to +80 average.
This team will hold you in the top 5 easily if you can farm the mods and put the zeta on Maul within about a month. Most of the people on your leaderboard won't even have zetas for another couple months, and many won't have the mods to make their team unbeatable for a long time. By then you will have plenty of options from the crystals you are taking at payout.
Your other options are DN lead, which isn't bad on offense, but tends to drop more on defense. zVader lead, which is about the same as DN lead. Problem with these leads is that you need really great speed mods to keep up, since they are slow and don't get much in the way of TM manipulation.
You could also go for a triple cleanse squad if you are close to unlocking GK. Otherwise, I'd stick with Sith. You can throw GK in for Sith trooper as well in a zMaul team.
These are all just things to consider. Having a zeta as fast as possible, and farming better mod sets will keep you competitive. You need to average like +10 to +12 speed secondaries on a team like DN or zVader lead, even on an early shard, to stay competitive. Sith Assassin can help with speed on a zVader team, but performs much better under zMaul.
Good luck on your journey! "Remington_Ewing;c-1189134" wrote:

Cheer for the advice- so stick with sith? They're just a pain to farm DN, SA and SiT - everyone on my shard runs Rex leads though would this be a problem? I'm lvl 76 btw so about a month away from getting zeta's- I have two zMaul leads on my shard who take 1st at payout daily. The first zeta showed up about 2 months ago, and they have been able to beat the Rex leads consistently.
Their squads are:
zMaul, zSavage, Sith Assassin, Sith Trooper and DN
zMaul, Sith Trooper, Sith Assassin, DN and GK
These are both good setups for offense and defense. The damage output is still enough to beat Rex teams on offense 100% of the time.
The best toons are always a pain to farm haha. That second squad has only one 7* toon. The rest are 5* or lower. Just need to get gear levels and bettwr mods to stay competitive. "ExarTheKun;c-1189197" wrote:

Really appreciate the advice - Maul is probably my favourite SW character so I did want to use him about 50 shards away from 7*ing him but was considering changing as Chaze seems to be dominating everything atm but I will start to farm SiT and SA from shipments- zMaul is easily beaten by a triple-clease, like Rex-L, Chaze, R2, DN (or any different combination, with GK or others). So it really depends on how old your shard is, and what the competition can bring to take you down.

I agree with this. Since you are on a newer shard, zMaul should pay off for another 4 or 5 months I would estimate. After that, you will have plenty ofbcrystals to transition into a new meta
Edit: 4 or 5 months after you get that first zeta.
