I'm a little confused though. If you just want to run a team that looks cool and don't care about teams that work for a reason, why do you care if they are viable?
If you just want to play around with things in GW for fun, at a certain point after level 85, the difficulty caps. So just about any old maxed out team could probably beat most of the nodes (though at that point, you will be simming GW most days unless you are trying to fulfill a quest or something). Troopers are a useful team to have built up for other reasons along with Veers, so once you get to that point, if you want to ay them in GW or something without Veers, you'll be able to. Doesn't mean you shouldn't also level up Veers for other game modes where team comp matters.
