Today after closing the game and attempting to re-open it, I started getting sent to the new player screen. I clicked on the "have account" button to connect, enter my email, and then enter the code that is emailed to me. I get a very quick flash of a screen that says something about "something not allowed" but it flashes by too quickly to really read or grab a screen shot. Then I am told there was an error (9.78) and I should try again.

I have done all of the suggestions I've seen online. My internet connection is good. I have logged out of my google play account and back in, I have rebooted the phone, I have even tried logging into other older accounts, or going in via bluestacks. Nothing works. Now, I have tried so many times the game refuses to even send me the code to my email to verify the account.

  • @waw1969 You need to logout of your google play account first.
A swgoh account is not allowed to be connected to 2 Google Play accounts. The EA Connect login you want to use does not match your Google Play account. Therefore the error.

Logout of Google and it should work

@Barbarossa5 I've done so. I've also tried multiple google play accounts because the correct one did not work either. I get a super fast screen after typing in the confirmation EA code that is too fast to record, that seems to indicate some kind of error. I suspect that is the root cause but unfortunately it is there and gone too fast to even read it.
    1. Boot the game and log out of Google Play.
    2. Restart the game.
    3. Select "Play as guest"
    4. Complete the tutorial.
    5. Select settings and use the EA Connect flow.

I was able to do this on bluestacks.  However, on my android phone logging out of google play can only be done if I disconnect from my google account entirely on the phone, which causes me no end of issues.

Are you saying I can no longer play this game on my android phone if I am logged into my google account on that phone?

Looks like I spoke too soon. I was able to get in once on bluestacks. Then after closing the app and re-opening, when I try to run SWGOH it crashes every time.  To uninstall and reinstall requires me to log in to my google account on google play again, which seems like it will just start me down the same path of not being able to connect to my account.
