To take only the last 4 TWs as example we have been outmatched by 4mil GP, 6mil GP, 9mil GP, and this time by 23mil GP! This is totally lopsided and makes the challenge of TW insurmountable. He have 49/49 participation. Fix the matchmaking system, there's no reason for guilds to match further than ~1mil GP.
The issue I feel is that at best it tries to match GP values. The problem with that at this point - is: the GP value of a g12, zeta, clone wars Chewie = the GP value of a g12, zeta, Maul. Obviously one of these is useful for defending/attacking in TW while the other is going to do nothing at all. I haven't a clue how to take these sorts of things into consideration hoenstly. But I feel like that's where a lot of the issue has to be coming from. If a player with 2.5m GP invested in toons they enjoyed/liked/whatever attempts to go toe to toe with a 2.5m player who has assembled every meta team for the last 2 years religiously - the player chasing their hopes and dreams is going to lose every single fight. Then you look at this across a whole guild and the disparity is worse.
One guild could be purely focused with 50 people who played Rex lead, then GK lead, then wiggs, then maul, then CLs, then rey over the past year and a half, etc - while the other guild features players who invested in droids, or bounty hunters, or empire, or scoundrels, or jawas, or ewoks, or separatists, etc. both guilds have the same GP for matchmaking purposes due to gear lvls, zetas, and 5 dot mod count - however I can tell you which one is going to win that fight......
