Combat quest: Endor Allies - confusing wording.

Others have reported it working with a non-ewok ally, so maybe it isn't the wording which is wrong.  For some reason it doesn't always count the kills when an ewok kills a stormtrooper.  Could it be because I used the go button on the event to launch the battle?

(Subsequent times when I tried and it worked, I launched the battle from the light side screen, and I used a different battle (ls 6-J)

rather than the one that the go button takes you to.)
