The unused spot means the reinforcement position must be empty - it doesn’t mean that you never got up to 5 ships in the board.
Ok, then it must've displayed +3 for the 4th (locked) reinforcement slot that I was not eligible to fill. So it showed me +63 banners but I actually only earned +60 and only had +60 added to my total score.
- @Kluge1971 I wonder if the locked spot (due to Negotiator not being 7-stars) is causing the game to give you the "unused spot" message, but the logic doesn't actually add it to your score.
