I'm brainstorming right now. Since EA created the GAC - there are now two layers of events. There is a championship (where all the feats exist), and a Grand Arena.

When you open up the GAC, that first screen is only for the championship. You would have to go to the second later to enter the GA itself. If a player doesn't join the GA, they will still be in the GAC and be able to complete feats, but will not be able to complete the feats that must be done as part of a GA.

And it’s true, there is a possibility ‘somebody’ did not join GAC. But the sheer volume of people confirming the behavior, in various posts, across both the bug reporting and technical issues forums does indicate that ‘something bigger’ is going on....

If, indeed, there are two layers now and we need to confirm twice that we join something, then it should have been articulated more clearly by the devs or in the game. I know that I've joined the event. Active feats and position in the ranking prove it. I don't go 'round looking for more buttons to click on to confirm my intent. How many times do we have to say "yes" to take part in the tournament? Previously, we only needed to say yes once. Now mechanics changed and no-one said a thing about it.

This proves my point exactly. Feats and rank are part of the championship, not the Grand Arena. The Grand Arena events contribute to the championship, bit your can be in the championship and not sign up for the Grand Arena event.
