This does not appear to be specific to just one or two types of phones. I see reports from OTs, Galaxies, etc.
I'm using a Pixel 3 XL, and have the exact same issue. The sound starts buzzing, and you know the game itself is going to crash in a matter of seconds.
I will try the kill everything and restart app before any crucial combat from now on.
It does seem like a memory/process corruption bug of some sort.
Happens on notes 9+ as well.
Unplayable in mobile and given this is a mobile game... go figute

SM-T830 Samsung Also have this problem. Lost GA fleet battle today to it. The device buzzes and the game freezes. The device continues to buzz until I restart. Has anyone found a solution to this issue?

Having to restart the phone/app before any non repeatable battle is a bit problematic.
It even crashes when logging out.
I just realized that force stopping the app stops the buzz. That is a bit more convenient than restarting the tablet. I uninstalled reinstalled and still have the issue.
