Have you seen this screenshot? πŸ‘€

Has anyone seen the above screenshot (in-game on the PC Client) whenever trying to purchase something at the store? Everything else works! I can do quests, interact with Guild, etc. but when I try to pick up anything at the store I get booted out of the game.

The only clue is that I am running the game on a VMware virtual workstation. That might explain why -only- communications with purchasing servers are blocked. Remember, -everything else- works except for the store so my network connectivity is fine πŸ‘

If I can login to the game, it stands to reason I should be able to make purchase as well πŸ˜‹

  • I fixed the issue πŸ₯³

    Root Cause

    EA Games Store does not accept communications from virtual machines (PC's) that are behind a NAT. This may be true for physical workstations as well.

    Solution

    1. Change the network adapter type on your virtual machine from NAT
    2. Enable 'Replicate physical network state' checkbox

     

    Conclusion

    It's very bad and cheesy πŸ§€ that this game does not warn you that you will be blocked -only- from the Store Purchases if you are behind a NAT. There is no where that I can find πŸ‘€ where this restriction is mentioned.

    I was able to workaround this by logging in from my phone (which is not optimal for me) but there is a daily gift 🎁 exclusive to PC Client users that would still be unobtainable if this issue wasn't resolved. I also noticed that the Gifts tab was never available to me unless I logged on to the mobile version. Again, this was never mentioned anywhere.
