Moff Gideon missing. Maybe other things?

I understand that there may be other topics related to this.

I made an account after watching some of the game online. Shortly after I made the account, even with me playing the game itself, Moff Gideon never showed up/missing. Not only that, but the log in for 2 days thing was messed up when I've logging in more days then that. I'm not sure if I'm missing anything else, but basically what ever a new account/player is suppose to get, seems that I didn't recieve it.

I think I figured out what happened. To get Moff, you have to do a quest to get his shards to unlock him. However, I already beat those stages before the quest was given, or while I was doint lightb side battles. Anyway the quest showed up after and it was with a big list of other quests.

You are currently on 22 Moff Gideon shards. You need 50 to unlock him.

@EA_Gunner I understand that. I was under the impression that you get him on a new account for free? Or am I mistaken?

It used to be you had a random chance of getting either Farmboy Luke or Ewok Scout as a starter character. I'm not sure if it works the same since they updated the starter units, but it's possible you got someone else instead of Gideon.
