Since the August update caused widespread audio issues, the music portion of the problem seems to be fixed, at least for Spotify. But all podcasts on Spotify cannot be played while the game is open.
This bug persisted months on my Pixel 3. I chalked it up to the phone being old and Spotify having many other issues with it. But it continues on my new Motorola Edge as well.
In August it was said here that the issue was being investigated. Apparently just as thoroughly as the rest of the bug testing in this game is.
Is this ever going to be truly addressed, or do we have to bribe these greedy developers to look into it? Just take a week off from figuring out ways to try to wring out every cent from our wallets and improve the state of the game.
As you mentioned, the team is aware and are still working on this issue.
A fix was included with a previous release, but was not fully successful.
