Following the shard shop economy changes the number of shards in the assault battle have been doubled, up to a potential twenty per character, up from ten pre-update.
It is possible to receive ten shards of a character despite the possible rewards saying twenty. The old rewards said ten, but could award five. You received two character drops, worth ten shards each, which is why the rewards state 20, as you can get 20 shards if the same character drops twice.
Ship blueprints aren't doubled, as is the way with the rest of ships blueprints since the update. They say ten, and can award five. They provide twice the SSC that they used to. Again, 10 is when the same ship drops twice in one round's rewards.
This is all working as intended, though I appreciate the wording on the rewards screen could be clearer
