Screen issue in Chewie event

What type of device are you experiencing the issue with? iPad Air

What type of issue do you have? Gameplay
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Summarize your bug Last tier of Chewie event has screen issues, I tried game restart, device restart, reinstall and so on, but issues still occur.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? How do I know?

  • @slaviczavik Thanks for the additional information. That's what was missing to help us reproduce the issue. You were right that the first attempt of the last tier is displayed correctly, but if you try it again, the issue occurs.

    We've now flagged it as a visual bug with the last tier of the "One Famous Wookiee" legendary event.

    Let me know if you notice this issue in any other areas of the game. I've tried some other events and they seem to work fine.

    My BH team is Boba fettgl12 z, 2zBossk gl12, Z Dengar gl12 , greedo gl12, Ang ig88 gl12. With 5a, and 6e mods. Same problem

    Hi, I also have had this problem and been redirected to this thread. I have reinstalled SWGOH twice now. Each time it works for awhile as intended and then it goes back to the "holo" overlay. This has happened on my Samsung note 9 (android 8.1) and my iPad (iOS 12.1). Both on my main account, my 2nd account and friend's accounts. It has happened at level 5 of the Chewbacca event and level 7 so far. When I played level 6 on my main account (the one associated with this email) I had no problem whatsoever. Only when I started level 7. Then the "bug" started on  my main account and then spread to my 2nd account, which I am playing at level 5. I am playing from the U.S.

     
    I am annoyed with this development.  I am sensitive to constantly flashing lights (this happens in the "glitching" and "vibrating" nature of the holo effect), and find it physically hard to play through this effect. 
     
    Since I have tried everything suggested  and the bug keeps coming back, on multiple devices and several accounts, I am at a loss for what to do. 
     
    So my question at this point is this: 
     
    I have spent considerable time, effort and resources preparing for and playing the chewbacca event, only to be hindered by your bug. In light of the answers on this forum, where it seems this is a bug that is not being fixed quickly and/or at all....what is EA's solution?  Especially as there are 5 days left.

    I forgot to add I am playing on a string wifi connection and my ally code is 594-882-411.

    Hi @EthynnFel ! This forum exists to help SWGOH Quality Assurance identify bugs, and to help answer player questions when they believe there is a bug (even if it's just due to a misunderstanding of the player's part).

    In this case, there is a visual bug, and QA has flagged it for correction. The studio developers are the ones who will actually fix the bug, and bug fix timelines are rarely communicated out of the studio in advance. Usually we find out that bugs are fixed when they show up in the patch notes.

    Based on past observations, I wouldn't expect it to be corrected during this run of the Chewie event. It will *hopefully* be fixed before the next time it returns.

    Edit:  Right now, the only workaround appears to be uninstalling the game and reinstalling it.  Your first run after that shouldn't experience this glitch.  You will have to decide whether to give up on the event for this run, reinstall before every attempt, or try to power through the visuals.  I'm sorry you're finding it difficult.  ☹️

    Thx for the response. EA customer service instructed me to post here after several emails and that the studio could then decide how to proceed if I posted here so they could track this bug.  I guess I will wait for their response.
