GaS's leadership ability removes all other status effects when he goes into cover. Not sure what you're getting at.
Except the debuff by Great Mothers is locked - as in, Can not be dispelled.
So... if even SLKR can't cleans locked debuffs (like armor shred), why does General Skywalker?
Because he's not cleansing debuffs, he's removing status effects. They're just gone.
Not sure why he'd stand up with no protection though. He stays sitting while allies are alive vs. SEE.
