Have you tried changing the compatibility? You can do that by right clicking on the game, > properties, > compatibility.
Tick "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and tick Windows 8 if it worked for you on Windows 8.. etc.
Experiment around, or try using the troubleshoot compatibility.
