I have this problem also!  Even when someone comes over to my lot!

Yup, I am sad to see this has yet to be addressed or looked into-

Mine is also the same I am not able to open the game as it says i need to update my graphics card, i have tried everything and literally nothing is working :( 

Hoping there is a quick fix to this..

ich habe im Prinzip das gleiche Problem, aber bei mir startet es, also es kommt das EA Logo und dann der Ladebildschirm und dann friert alles ein und es geht nichts mehr, vielleicht hätte jemand eine Lösung oder wir müssen auf einen weiteren Patch warten, hab eine NVidia Geforce GTX 960m Grafikkarte...

Same for me. Crashes after about 5 minutes on a community lot, 10 if I'm lucky. Even visitors on my home lot cause a ton of lag. Nothing I've tried has helped at all. 

yah i’ve got this issue as well – a shame considering I have a relatively new machine :( hopefully they’ve got their eyes on this stuff and fix it soon. it doesn’t make the game unplayable but it’s really frustrating

Yeah, I have the same problem. Massive lag whenever there are several sims on a lot. Makes community lots and parties almost unusable.

New update, same low FPS problem and even any mod or AMD Radeon performance like Anti Lag or Chill mode didn't help at all.

i also have an amd radeon graphics card and sims 1 wont launch
