My game, despite the patch today, still crashes after 10 seconds of being in-game. This growingly frustrating as I bought the bundle for a pretty penny, and I can't even play it now. Same with Sims 2, it's constantly crashing as well despite the patches.
I don't get any error message, it just crashes to desktop. I have tried all the tips and tricks in forums threads here, on reddit, on steam. Nothing works.
I tried deleting the last save in the folder, and it worked for about 30mins before the crash happened again. This time my sim was just chilling in the hot tub. So it's just not one isolated activity or event the sim is doing. My sim has done something different in all crashes, and it's all the same. If EA can't figure out a solution, I hope they let steam issue refunds. Because I paid $40 for the bundle, and I can't even fully enjoy it before it crashes. And having to lose all my saves and start fresh every time it happens, is not $40 well spent. I didn't buy the sims bundle to do "speed runs" before the crashes start.
My edition of The Sims 2 works perfect. The sims 1 however, doesn't. I purchased it today and after about 10mins of gameplay, it's crashing. My gaming laptop is then going blue and a message reading "your device ran into a problem, we need to restart" and it proceeds to do just that. It's SO frustrating. I've tried all the fix tips online, and much like yourself, nothing is fixing it. 🙃
