14 March 2025 Sims 2 Update Window Size

The 14 March update while adding a windowed mode to the Sims 2, I now cannot change the window size. This means the UI is tiny. I had my eyes checked few days ago and have great vision, but I cannot see the items in build buy on this TINY UI. I could yesterday as I could change the window size.

The window size option is still there in display options BUT it is greyed out and you can't more the scroller. What is going on.

I just tried this and it worked! I have put a thread about it to help people.

  • What worked for me to be able to play the game again: I changed the screen resolution on my laptop to 1366x768 (only for the game, you have to change it back after playing). The UI is then at normal size. However, scrolling still does not work.

  • I'm having precisely the same issue and I'm not entirely sure how to fix it. It seems like they may have broken something when they fixed the dual monitor display issues, perhaps? I have been looking online for a solution but I haven't found anything yet. It's really difficult to see (I'm visually impaired, so I have a difficult time seeing tiny fonts and things), so I won't be able to play until this is fixed. Unfortunate. Hopefully a solution will be discovered soon!

Mine has done the same thing. It was completely fine the last time I played and now everything is smaller, with no option to fix it in game. I've tried looking up and so far, I haven't found anything, but if I do, I will let you know.
