I had specifically the missing sim bug multiple times now. Both times they were children (one toddler w/ household of 4, and one child w/ household of 2). In my case, it seemed to trigger after the initial loading of the family. I would close the game to take a break; load the family back up and the children were just gone. However, the game did seem to get stuck on the loading screen for a while; long enough that I had to terminate the program as nothing was happening for over five minutes (has loaded every other time in under 2 minutes). This could have triggered the bug I suppose. Regardless, getting stuck like that in loading is certainly an issue that doesn't always happen.
I see we have same problem then hah. Same happened to me, before kids disappeared they had wrong names (other Sims names) or names which looks like a names of files(?) in files game. I am so pissed off, I play ts2 for so long but unfortunately had to buy ts2 legacy. We spent so big money but still game is unplayable
