C++ ERROR MESSAGE HELP

Hello,

I recently got The Sims 2 Legacy and have been playing it fine on day of install (yesterday). I turned off my computer and went to play it today only to be met with an error message stopping me launching the game, which states;

"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

Program: ... mmon\The Sims 2 Legacy\Collections\EP9\TSBin\Sims2EP9.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the applications support team for more information."

I will contact EA soon but wondered if anyone else has encounter this? The only thing I did was make my own neighbourhood and decorate.
