Can't Install Sims 2 Legacy Edition - HELP!

Purchased the 25th Anniversary Bundle through the EA App. Initially, there was no problems with the loading when it came to installing the Sims 2, up until the progress bar reached 97%, where a message popped up:

"DirectX Setup Error: An internal error occurred"

Which was followed up by another message: "DirectX Setup: Invalid Command Line Switch"

Was just wondering if anyone else had encountered this upon installing the Sims 2 via the EA App, or if any possible solutions have worked - note, clearing the cache and restarting the EA App multiple times didn't seem to do anything. However after a few installation attempts the game now appears in the Installed Games section, but just paused on 97%.

    I'm having the same issue!! i was hoping to come back to playing the sims after a 5-year break.

    I’m having the same problem. After about an hour, sims 2 legacy finally finished downloading but now says I have to redownload due to some files being absent. Anyone know how to fix this?
