I have the Sims 2 (on Mac and the DVD version) and cc isn't showing up in cas. I've installed several cc hairs and clothes and non of them appear in game. I've also tryed installing cep but that hasn't done anything (there is no indication it is even there). CC shows up in build/buy modes but not cas for some reason and I know it isn't a mod conflict.
It's possible the CC was made using packs you don't own. Did the creators list their packs or list any required packs? I don't know if all sites require that, but I know Mod the Sims does.
I just discovered that on Mac you might need to use the package installer. https://forums.ea.com/discussions/the-sims-2-en/re-sims-2-mac-how-to-install-custom-content/11053094 I haven't tested it yet but this seems like the issue :)
