Crashing every 20 minutes or so

As the title says. I just bought the legacy edition yesterday. What a scam! The game crashes constantly. My sims can't have babies, can't get promotions at work, pets are disappearing... It is unplayable. The crashes are unpredictable and can happen anytime, anywhere, during the game. The whole game just stops working suddenly. 
I want to play the game that I paid for. Come on EA, you can't re-release a broken game!
