Disappearing Sims

Sims 2 legacy edition. Created a family with three sims for college in sims 2. Played for a couple hours last night and today when I loaded the game two of the three were gone. They are still in the family snap shot while it’s loading but they are gone when the game loads up and all relationships with other sims on the lot are gone? Wondering if anyone has any ideas?
