- What is The Sims 2 Legacy Collection?
The Sims 2 Legacy Collection is a 25th anniversary re-release of The Sims 2 with almost every Expansion and Stuff Pack that was originally available.
- Where can I purchase The Sims 2 Legacy Collection?
You can purchase The Sims 2 Legacy Collection from EA, Steam and Epic Games. EA Play subscription is not necessary to play.
- Is The Sims 2 Legacy Collection available on Mac?
The Sims 2 Legacy Collection is only available for Windows players. To play The Sims 2 on Mac, please check out The Sims 2 Super Collection on the Mac App Store. Keep in mind that it is missing some Expansion and Stuff packs that were never made available for Mac.
- What are the differences compared to the previous releases of The Sims 2?
The Sims 2 Legacy Collection has been updated to run on modern PCs with Windows 10/11 operating systems, with fixes for Graphics Rules, black boxes replacing Sims’ shadows, pink soup, crashing, and more.
- What is included with The Sims 2 Legacy Collection?
The Sims 2 Legacy Collection includes every Expansion Pack and Stuff Pack released for The Sims 2, except The Sims 2 IKEA Home Stuff, which was removed due to licensing issues. The Sims 4 Grunge Revival Kit is included as a bonus for your Sims 4 game. Below is a list of every Sims 2 pack included.

- Can I register my disk copies to get this game?
It is not possible to register disk copies of The Sims 2 with EA App.
- Can I still play my disk version of the game or The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection?
If you own disk copies or The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection, they will still work on your PC, but keep in mind you may experience compatibility issues.
- Can I play my existing save files in The Sims 2 Legacy Collection?
Yes, your previous save files will work in The Sims 2 Legacy Collection.
- Are Mods made for the original game compatible with The Sims 2 Legacy Collection?
Most Mods/CC should be compatible, but keep in mind that not all of them may work. Mods that affect UI or require special installation methods (such as installing files into the game’s installation folder) should be used with caution. Before modding your game, please back up your Sims 2 user data. EA does not offer support for Mods, use them at your own risk.
- I had The Sims 2 Store Edition installed with my disk copies, and my neighborhoods don’t show up in Legacy Collection.
This thread was originally made for The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection, but the method still works to help you make your saved games compatible with Legacy Collection. Please be aware that it requires the use of a third-party program not affiliated with EA.
- I am experiencing issues with the game.

- I cannot find The Sims 2 BodyShop and The Sims 2 Package Installer.
At the moment, these programs are not included with The Sims 2 Legacy Collection. There is no information from EA on whether they will be added later.
