Game stuck at loading screen

Bought the re-release of the Sims 2 and took my family on a vacation. They went to Takemizu island and on their way back to the hotel it has been an infinite loading screen but I can hear my sims in the back! Even a pop-up came up of one of them having a bladder failure...how do I fix this? I've spent hours on this family!!
