sims completely disappearing - the sims 2 legacy

my problem right now is after the crash thing happened after making my household i patched it and it got fixed but the next time i made a household my sims dog got deleted when i exited and loaded into the game after half an hour... i brushed it off bc it was a test household and went to get some cc only to find out the costum skins menu is completely broken which is ridiculous bc there are only 4 skin tones in the base game!!! i had to remake my sims but i finally got to playing. i made an absolute diva and a cute cat and then went to build their house!! after a bit of building i started gameplay and it was all going very well i even made a downtown. i had already played for about 4 hours when i traveled between lots in downtown and when going from the diner to get some food to the nightclub but the loading screen wouldn't end. i didn't mind because i had saved a couple of times so i just went to sleep bc i had spent the whole day playing. I WAKE UP THIS MORNING and instead of my pet missing my sim is missing :((((( no one has any memory of her not even my cat shes just gone and they took the kitty away to the adoption centre when i entered the household beacouse they said there was no sim to take care of her. she doesn't show up in the sims bar or when you look from the map at the sims but she did show up on the loading screen??? i an very confused people say to try reinstalling the game but im having a hard time doing so... </3 i also noticed it will only store 2 screenshots at a time

  • It sounds like there a lot of problems the EA team need to iron out.

In the meantime regarding the missing sims, I'm not sure if this will help, but maybe try backing up your neigborhood (e.g. copy paste it from your Sims 2 documents folder to your desktop) before you close the game down. Then if it happens again, try removing the problem version now in your documents folder and then copy pasting the backed up version back into your Sims 2 documents . When you load in, with any luck your old save might be preserved.  I regularly back up neighborhoods this way when I am doing something I think will go wrong.

Also remember that you cannot save your game unless your Sim is at home, or on vacation. You cannot save on a community lot, so if you are travelling from community lot to community lot you will not have the opportunity to save and will lose a lot of progress if the game hangs or crashes. It is a good idea with Sims 2 to save regularly and shut down and restart the game every half hour or so, to avoid crashes or losing a lot of progress. So if you do go downtown, I would only go to one venue  before going home, just in case things go haywire.

If I was you I would do regular saves, regular back ups, and regular restarts. If it still keeps going wrong, at least you have given it a go until EA sorts it out (if they do).

  • The **bleep** game still broken. All the sims dissapeard everytime they visit a community lot. At least, that's what happened to me.
The loading screen hangs for several minutes... even hours, and if you restart the game, everything will be gone. EA needs to fix that bug ASAP, otherwise, the game will be unplayable. :((
