It's been like that since the original 2004 release and they never patched it, although they should since this is supposed to be a "definitive" edition of the game.
Right clicking on thumbnails while holding ctrl should refresh then too and make the bug disappear, however you need to do that everytime you delete the documents game folder.
I wish they would replace these old tree models with better versions more appropriate for a 2025 release tho, they are so ugly from lot view.
I confess I was expecting more from these releases; I was very disappointed with the excessive amount of bugs and the poor visual quality on 1080p and 4k monitor resolutions. At the very least, EA should have delivered a remaster, but instead, we received a completely fragmented game—very sad.
