Infinite Loading screen at comunity lots

Hello Everyone !

So recently i decided to give the legacy edition a second chance ! and i tried to play a neighbourhood but the thing is that on any neighbourhood i play on the problem is some comunity lots wont load at all and i get stuck on the loading screen !

Some of these lots for example are the comunity pool in pleasantview and the clothing shop there  and the pool in strangetown and some lots in bluewater village that i cant remember the names of ! so after that i tried some fixes google suggested like running the game on adminstrator mode or playing the game on compatability mode but nothing worked !

i am playing on a clean version of the neighbourhoods and i just installed the game and i havent done anything to cause curruption in my game like messing with game files or deleting sims so i dont think curruption is the problem !

Do any of you guys have the same problems ?  and are there any fixes  ?

  • Hello everyone !

Its been 3 months since i last played the sims 2 and today i decided to reinstall it and i figured out what the problem was ! the comunity lots infinite loading glitch i think was caused by a mod i had that allowed my sims to have community lot parties ! this time i havent installed that mod into my game and i havent had the infinite loading glitch on the community lots ! so yeah thats what happened or at least what i think happened

  • I vaguely remember when installing by disk the patches had to be installed at each corresponding expansion. Or did they? So I don't know what happens with the digital install of all of the game at once.

There's a few mods that help with making it compatible with the newer computers. A search for the advice on those in old forum threads might be fruitful.

Crashes and stuck loads used to be caused by dodgy CC for me, and there was plenty of that going around.

Playing in administrator or compatibility mode doesn't sound right.

I'm sorry. That's a bummer. Help and bug reporting is here: https://help.ea.com/en/ But, if you click to report a bug, it leads back to the forums. They've rolled answers HQ into the forums and just left us to it pretty much. And the only game that has a dedicated bug thread is Sims 4. There is some evidence that EA moderators occasionally see the threads in there, and patches we've had would suggest they at least used to monitor the threads for Sims 2. I don't know how much they still monitor them.

I wouldn't think it's the neighborhoods. I've used MeetMe's neighborhoods myself, they're pretty popular. I currently have some neighborhoods from another creator who used MeetMe's as the starting point. This is so weird. I wish I could tell you for sure how to fix it. Do you have any other CC or mods at all, or really just that one? Have you tried removing that one to see if it's somehow doing it?

I suggest getting the FFS Lot Debugger, aka batbox. Put that in your downloads, then buy it in game and try out some of the debugging options to see if that works. I'd suggest you try Nuke- Offworld loiterers, Global Urnstone tokens. Fix- (if these appear as an option) invisible Sims, Stuck Diners. Force errors- on in world, on off world, on all. Memory- trash, gossip, nuke attraction markers, corrupt (if it appears). I use batbox every so often just to keep things running smoothly, not even because I have errors. Maybe one of these things will help.

The clean neighbourhoods i am using are meetmetotheriver clean neighbourhoods ! i just installed them right after installing the game!

the problem is that too many lots  have this problem i encountered more than 5 community lots  in my gameplays   ! i checked if a mod was causing the problem but the only mod i have for community lots  is the stand alone timer that only affects the home lot and makes the playable sims come home at the time they left the community lot so thats definently not the problem .  honestly i dont know what to do anymore  !

Do you think it might be the neighbourhoods ? should i find some other creators clean neighbourhoods ?

  • The cleaned neighborhoods you are using, where did you get them? Or do you just mean it's a completely new game?

This is a problem I've only ever encountered when there was a corrupt Sim on a lot. Deleting the Sim (with the proper tools) solved the problem. But I doubt that's your issue, given that these are community lots. I tried googling it too and all I got was people encountering this while Sims were on vacation, and you solve that by deleting the vacation world.
