Remaster lag and error message
I've been playing the sims 2 remaster with no issues up until a few days ago. In game time will start going by extremely slow, taking approximately 20 real seconds for 1 in game second to go by on 1x...

Since this game came out there have been issues that were never addressed. Weird lag from time to time, the speed buttons not actually changing the speed of the time passing, and similar. As well as a myriad of other annoyances. They just never finished patching the game before moving on to Sims 3. I recommend a couple things to keep the game running smoothly (barring errors they do need to release another patch for). Download the ffs lot debugger, aka batbox. When you start noticing lag or errors, plop it down into your Sims yard and use it. Use it to delete off world loiterers, invisible Sims, gossip that has piled up in Sims memories, and various other things that can slow the game down. It also has other functions. The other thing I recommend is to go into the Sims 2 folder after every play session or at least every few play sessions and delete all the cache files, thumbnails, and logs. For some reason these can become corrupted. The game will generate new ones when you start it up again. I hope this helps.
