Sims 2 crashes on family loading screen

Ever since the first patch update, I can no longer play with my family. It crashes on the loading screen every time. Even with the latest patch update, it still crashes. No CC is enabled. I don’t know what to do at this point.

I am having the same issue, I just received the update and haven't been able to load since.

I just downloaded the fifth update and it’s still doing this to me. I’m at a loss as to what to do. I’ve looked through all the discussions in the forums and have tried everything that was suggested. I feel like I wasted money on this game.

What I would try is take the family out of the house and add them into another lot, see if that fixes it. I am having issues with crashing after 20 minutes, used Hoodchecker to check if any issues and also another program to check cc/mods. Still crashing so I am going back to my UC Sims 2.

Definitely a mod/cc issue in my game I have concluded as took out my Downloads folder on to my desktop and played for over a hour in 'VANILLA'.  I have found a issue in one of the folders in my Downloads had two zipped files in it, not sure if that would make it crash but so far in my testing game has not crashes once. I am up to about 80% done, time consuming but it is worth it to get the game in a no crash state. I should be finished sometime today. Then next test will be can I run GShade as I DO miss not having it in my game.

I’ll give that a shot!  I simply just don’t enable any of my very limited CC.. it was literally all cars! Lol.

Yeah give it a go.  That's what happen to me in the past if I removed family out of the lot and try to move them back in it seemed to fix issue, if it don't, move them into a new house.

  • I have been having the same issue on PC and I have no cc or Mods of any kind
