I just experienced the same issue 4 days ago and have been trying to figure out what to do. I have been playing for months with absolutely no problems or issues with everything working as expected. Now I am able to get into the game, but there is lag and when I attempt to leave the lot with a sim to go downtown, vacation, etc. the game will always crash on me with no pop-up window or error code shown. I am playing on the Sims 2 Legacy version through the EA App and have no mods. I attempted to remove the .cache files and tried to turn off shadows (all of which I was able to play with previously without issue). Unsure what the issue could be or the cause. Hopefully EA sees this and puts out a fix as it appears to be affecting a lot of users! We just wanna play our fave Sims game, please help! 😭
