Sims 2 Legacy crashes when playing Open for Business

I'm having the same thing.  I can play fine until I try to enter one of the resaurants.  Game even crashes when I try to load it in build mode.  I THINK I have it narrowed down to the Tempest Stove.  I'm still troubleshooting...
