Sims disappearing

Started a family yesterday in pleasant view with one sim and a cat. My sim was so cute and about to get all up in Don Lothario's business until I got stuck in a loading screen so I had to force close the game. When I reopened it and loaded back into the household, my sim had vanished and it was just her cat! I tried reloading the lot and that didn't fix it. She doesn't show up in the cats friendship section or anything. Its as if she never existed. When I move the family back into the bin, It's just the cat that it moves but the image of her is still there.

Today I went to make a new household (sim and a cat again) and as soon as I loaded into the apartment I had chosen, the cat had vanished! I didn't even get the play with the cat at all. I went back into edit town to try and reloaded the lot and got stuck on another loading screen so had to force close AGAIN. When I loaded back into the game my sim had vanished as well! It didn't even show her living in the apartment in edit town and she wasn't in the bin. 

I have previously played sims 2 UC on this PC and had to do that awful lengthy process of changing the game files to get it to run but once I had done that, I only had very minor bugs, nothing to this extent! I was so excited about this rerelease so I wouldn't have to do that process again. How I managed to do a better job of fixing the game than EA is beyond me!

I really want to play this game but it is literally unplayable! I don't know how EA have managed to release a previous game and add MORE bugs to it. #BestPlayTestingTeamEver <3
