I am playing on 4K and the game on proper resolution (3840x2160) looks nice but UI looks so blurry and it really stands out. It looks like it isnt scaled properly which was not the problem in sims 2 collection, it looked crisp and nice so please fix this. I have seen other people also reporting this problem and i think it’s a pretty big one that shouldnt be happening. I cant enjoy the game with this UI.
I have the same issue, the UI is blurry, I am using the largest possible option via the cheat from patch notes (for a 4k screen) but the whole UI looks blurry, the text is difficult to read, too.
I said this in kaspi's post about the same issue, it might be something other than the game itself causing your issue. I am using a 4k monitor, have my game set on the highest setting available, and my UI is perfectly clear. I don't know what the issue might be, but I would troubleshoot my monitor if it were me and not just the game.
However, as far as an in game "fix", the only one I've seen is to set your resolution lower.
Uhm, are you actually playing in the 4k resolution or just using a 4k monitor? Do you scale the panel using the provided cheat?
There is a mod called 4k UI patcher, but it's only for the Ultimate Collection. If you look that up, you'll see the difference in how UI should look in 4k.
Yes. And no, I was able to scale to the highest resolution (3840x2160) without the cheat after a patch. I looked up the patcher you mentioned, turns out there's one for Legacy as well. My UI already looks like their improved one.
I googled the issue to see what people on Reddit and other Sims sites were saying. It looks like there is a split for some reason, between players whose UIs look fine and players who say theirs are too small or blurry. Other than individual computers, I'm not sure what would cause the difference.
That's odd! Regarding the cheat, I was referring to the uintProp uiScaleFactor which makes the UI bigger, how big does your sharp UI look? Although mine doesn't look sharp in the medium setting (2) either, but it's worse when it's set to 3 which is most comfortable for me visually.
I could not find the patcher for Legacy, do you mind to share this over DM? Also, are you by any chance using any UI mods?
I have so much CC and some mods for Sims 2, but nothing for the UI. This is the highest resolution on a 32 inch 4k monitor. I had to take it with my phone because I'm on my Mac here in the forum and Sims 2 is on a Windows machine, so the slight blur is my phone, not the way it looks in person.
