The Sims 2 Legacy Collection Crashing For No Apparent Reason?

HI! I just bought the sims 2 legacy collection and it will not stop crashing. I can open the game just fine and create neighrborhoods/use CAS perfectly fine, graphics re great, no issues, but every time I open a lot and try to get a sim to do anything it immediately crashes.

I've checked my system requirements and I have more than enough memory and hard drive space, my graphics card meets the minimum requirements, and my processor is higher than the minimum requirement. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled, tried to repair the game, and tried a few community fixes to no avail. I also checked to make sure my graphics and audio drivers are fully updated, which they are. I don't have any old files for The Sims 2 installed on this computer so that isn't the problem either. There is no concieveable reason the game should be crashing.

There is no error code when it crashes so I don't even know specifically how to target the issue. Does anyone know what might be going on?
