[The Sims 2 Legacy] Sims cannot cook meals and memories stopped recording.

Question

This bug occurred post patch and it is significant, I have tried restarting the game without saving but the bug continues.

My save is with the Curious household and all three Sims cannot cook. They do begin the process, all animations complete but when the meal is completed the food disappears and the sim briefly T-poses. If a meal is made with an oven the oven door will stay open too.

I have tried making batches, changing to make them cook on BBQ's and this does not work. The only way my sims can eat is if they eat chips or cookies, and my other resort is getting takeaway.

It is consistent each time, and will always replicate.

As well as this, I have realized that when the food bug occurred, non of my sims have been recording any memories at all.

*I have not used any mods or cheats in this save*

this is an issue with how the game handles tokens - invisible inventory items that keeps track of various things your sims and learned, done, etc. such as learning new recipes, magazine subscriptions, dying, pregnancy, disease, etc. this means that the game is giving your sim HUNDREDS of these tokens, namely the magazine subscriptions, and is preventing your sim from gaining new memories and learning new recopies. this post explains it more: https://forums.ea.com/discussions/the-sims-2-en/issues-with-manage-inventory-primitive-on-legacy-collection-and-abduction/11861779/replies/11870072
