  • I have a level 10 singer. I have a Big Show Venue. He plays once a week there and he brings in approx $23,000-$25,000. If I really wanted him to bring in the money, I'd just have him have several gigs around town & he'd probably bring in a good $35,000 - $40,000 weekly.

Also, if you are a scientist, I believe you could eventually learn how to clone tiberium, which gets a LOT of money as well. :)
  • The best paying (and also most boring) that I've played is writer. Royalties can top 100k a week easy, and you're sim can stop and do whatever they want, so it works well if you have something else planned for later. Royalties continue for six weeks after the books are written, so you'd have a steady and large income for a long time. But like I said, it's boring.

It's not too bad if you've got other Sims to do something with - my current family has a doctor, chef, writer, scuba diver, teenager, child & baby. So dad can stay home & write & watch baby while I take mum scuba diving. The money comes in more from his doctor sister-in-law at the moment though.
  • I'd say have one sim stay unemployed and be your diver until they befriend a mermaid/gain enough ltr points and obtain mermaid kelp. Then turn your sim into a mermaid (works best if your sims has level 9 scuba diving as it unlocks the wish to maximize diving skill) and then have your sim scuba dive daily for shells and underwater sea life. Don't forget to get your weekly treasure from chests (they respawn every week). While doing all of this, make sure you get Hobart's Hideaway at the very beginning. A 5 star Hobart's hideaway with two towers at maximum upgrade can yield $8000 a day.

Whereas having your Sim disappear into a Rabbit Hole for 8 hours entertaining??
  • If you have World Adventures expansion I would say that collecting is probably the most lucrative occupation in the sims. (Yet another reason WA is my favorite expansion and a feature I take for granted.) You can do it while employed or unemployed. The key to collecting is knowing what to do with what you collect. You never have to find Tiberium in the world. You can make it if you know how. The key is transfiguration with the Carter's XL Display Case.

Here is an online guide to collecting and transfiguration. http://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/skills/collecting/worldadventures/transfiguration.php

Note: None of these are cheats. They are built into the game. But you can play it for years and never know anything about this feature.

If you have Supernatural you have the gem cutter and the cost of cutting gems becomes zero so a lot of the information about cost in the guide is out of date as it was written before Supernatural came out. But absolutely nothing beats being able to produce your own Tiberium and soulpeace gems for making money in the game.

See...forgot about it! My sister has done this, but I completely forgot it existed. Transfiguration is a great idea!

You can also find a single tiberium gem, cut it into a spire then clone it using the Science machine if you have high enough Science skill -- I'm working on getting my alien's Science skill high enough before he and his half-brother move to Isla Paradiso and start remodeling Hobart's Hideaway. They've got one more term left at University; I downloaded a custom dorm that has a science machine in the basement so he can research while everyone is asleep (aliens don't need sleep, just need to sit and restore brain power once every few days unless they drain themselves by summoning a meteor).
