I know this isn't where this post goes I already made a post in technical this morning an no one ever replied an I've waited all day an I really need help!!!! This is what I posted in my other thread:Since recent patch I have found when loading my game though the launcher I get a black screen like its going to load then it minimizes itself. The first time it did this I uninstalled all mods, deleted all cache files an thumbnails even deleted the DCCcache files in that folder an restarted my game an all was fine after that. I followed everything from this site steps 1-3. http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Sims_3_Crashing_Checklist Then realizing the game was fine I reloaded the mods I had( I only had mods no CC items like lots from the exchange) an everything was still working fine up till today. TODAY: I just downloaded two things from the store that where on sale an went to start my game. Same thing happened as before black screen like its going to load then minimizes itself. So I went back to the checklist website(see above)an did all steps 1-9. Game still minimizing itself after doing all steps 1-9.SO I uninstalled ALL games just now to do a fresh restart. Im only installing the base game , island paradise, supernatural , seasons , world adventures , ambitions , uni , late night....Im not installing generations , fast lane stuff, showtime ,pets, high end loft ,outdoor living. If the minimize thing still happens after I re install what else can I do? are there other steps to try other then the checklist? EDIT: forgot to mention once I even tried renaming the sims 3 folder as a backup an also moved the sims 3 folder to the desktop an that didn't help either. Ive now spent all day reinstalling my games an im still getting the same problem an I don't know what to do! can anyone pelase please please help?

I've been having this issue and killing myself trying to fix it!I FINALLY FIXED IT!I noticed that the full screen resolution that it was setting my game to was way off. When I changed the resolution in the game it stopped minimizing itself. Here is how to fix it and keep it fixed!Right click on your desktop-> Screen Resolution -> write down recommended (mine is 1920x1200) Then go to My Documents/Electronic Arts/ The Sims 3Open the Options.ini filesearch for Resolution(it should have 3 numbers after it separated by spaces)change the first number to the first number of your recommended resolutionand the second number to the second recommended resolution and leave the third number aloneEX: resolution = 1920 1200 60 (that's mine)Save it, restart the sims Hopefully you will be playing in no time!

I'm sorry your having issues and I don't know what it could be but a patch is suppose to be coming out tomorrow so hopefully that will fix you issue. Make sure origin is updated so you automatically get notification when you load your launcher.If that doesn't work and the patch doesn't fix your issue you'll need to contact EA tech support. ok thanks CLP..an if what you say doest fix it maybe I have to take my computer into the shop an see if they can diagnose the problem further

Origin just needed updating so you get the automatic notification when the patch is ready to download. It won't fix any game issues. I expect the patch number will be 1.59 or 1.60.

yes I had removed all mods before I downloaded my store stuff

yes I tried saving TSW.exe to the start bar an it still kept minimizing it

I got a new monitor not to long ago but I don't think that's the issue

im thinking its my DVD rom drive that needs to be replaced

Edit: Origin wont allow me to log in when I go to the help button all I get is a blank page

It could probably be something which has nothing to do with the game at all. When you land on the desktop all over sudden but the game runs fine it's an indication some other software demands focus and pulls you out. This could be anything.
So please make sure you have no other programs running. Close your internet browser, your email software, twitter client, cloud sync software (i.e. DropBox), Skype, ICQ and so on.

I went to update the game to the latest version yesterday an I got an error message. Don't remember what it was but does anyone know why id get an error message?

Are your mods updated for new patch?

You maybe need new versions of this mods you have.
