slytherin_petra The fact that your drive uses USB 3.0 is good, or at least better than if it were 2.0, but that's just the theoretical maximum data transfer speed of the connection. It doesn't say anything about the speed of the drive itself, only that it won't be limited by a slow connection.
Using NRaas StoryProgression doesn't make a save much larger and wouldn't trigger an out-of-storage-type crash. Running SP is more demanding than not, for sure, but that's only going to cause some lag and perhaps RAM spikes, not really much save bloat unless you're also playing rotationally. Still, if you don't want to use it, that's simple enough.
Having less than 10 GB free storage could cause a crash, depending on when you measured it. I could get into why if you're curious, but in the end, it's best to have more like 25 GB free at all times if you can manage it. Less is okay if you're monitoring things closely.
For the symlink itself, this is a good guide, written for Sims 4 but the concept is the same:
If you get an error when using the command, please post a screenshot of the Command Prompt window showing the command and the error. And feel free to ask questions about the process, but it's easier if you try it first, or at least look over the guide, and point to a specific step for which you'd like more details.
