Most people reply to the first post so all show up as replies to the original report. - caprice8125 years agoSeasoned AceThank you @logion, the problem is, I lurk (not logged on) and I can go in the thread(the sims3 (64 bit metal) release.... I see a "reply button". When I hit the reply button it asked me to sign on. When I sign on it takes me there, but there is nowhere to type in a box or anything. It will show the first post in that thread ( by Marg_Sosa ) but only shows the "Me too" button, +XP, and the Views buttons.
It does show a "New Topic" button to click on the right side, so is that what I use to reply? I just don't understand, that's why I lurk that thread and never sign in. I do see a lot of people apologize for replying to someone but they couldn't figure it out either, but at least they figured out how to get it to show in the thread! I will keep trying though :D - logionX5 years agoSeasoned Ace

If you can't post on a thread then maybe it is closed, can you link to the thread? - caprice8125 years agoSeasoned AceI signed off already, but this should be the link https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/the-sims-3-64-bit-amp-metal-release/td-p/8631090
eta: Yes, this is the link! - caprice8125 years agoSeasoned AcePage 403 says they are moving things around, but didn't say it was closed.
eta: I tried to go into another thread, but when I sign on it still doesn't bring up a reply button :s - logionX5 years agoSeasoned AceStrange, I don't know why you can't reply, maybe you need to verify your email account or something.
- caprice8125 years agoSeasoned AceMy email account shows a check mark next to it, it has been verified. I am on mac, but use a regular mouse and keyboard, so its difficult to figure out the money cheats now, my poor sim :D
I tend to keep things private on my mac anyway. It is probably a setting on my mac as I reset the settings to default on the EA HQ site the other day, and checked it today.
Thank you so much for your advice and help though. Maybe I will figure it out one day.
Happy Simming! - There may be a browser cache thing going on if logging in doesn't reveal the Reply buttons on a thread that is not locked up or undergoing some kind of maintenance. In the future though, perhaps try clearing your browser cache or trying a different browser? Or not using a Private Browser window feature, if you usually do so?
I always log in when I'm over there though, it happens automatically when things are working correctly. I mean, it's the same EA as here except more of a tech/game support forum board than one for community discussions about our games. Even if one stresses privacy, it doesn't seem that different to me than being and staying logged in on any other EA-run system. - caprice8125 years agoSeasoned AceOh, there is a tracker symbol that came with the last (maybe the update before the last one) update to catalina. That could be the reason, although I had the issue prior to this when I posted something a while back (before 64 bit metal). I couldn't reply then either.
It's ok though. I can read the threads anyway if I have issues :D
Thank you @igazor for your help. If everyone else can see it when signed on, I am sure the issue is on my end. - caprice8125 years agoSeasoned AceOh @igazor I was wondering if I should checkmark for Origin and EAServer (in system preferences) to allow them access all the time? I did check those two when before I chatted and was able to get the 64 bit metal release, then I unchecked them when my game worked. Soooo, do you think it is safe to keep them checked?
