Just a little appreciation post for The Sims 3's beautiful world

It makes me so happy to see people still loving this game in 2025.
I only started playing about two years ago even though I knew about it for way longer. I know it's a really old game but honestly the sims 3 has been the best therapy for me. It always makes me believe that the world is good and our lives are full of sunshine. No matter how down or sad I am as soon as I hear the sims 3 background music I just instantly feel happy.
With amazing soundtracks like Verisimilitude and Fortissimo Personality I feel like I'm temporarily transported to another world in the game another world where I exist (even if it's just virtual). The world of the sims 3 is a utopia everything in it is cute sunny and positive. From a software engineering perspective the game isn't perfect it has a lot of unreasonable things that are a headache for players and even with a bunch of mods you can't make the game completely satisfying. But we can't deny the positive impact it has on a player's spirit.
I haven't played the sims 3 in a long time because I don't want to get too dependent on its perfect world. The gap between the virtual world and reality can make you cry and the withdrawal you feel after quitting the game is a real headache too. Of course this might have something to do with where I live.

There are some people here that know exactly what you are talking about ... 🤣 Sims 3 with the Open World platform provides so many opportunities for exploring what you can create as well as enjoying what others have created. Where there are certainly things you need to do for your Sims, gameplay is low impact because you can hit pause and look around.

Most of the folks active in this section of the forums have been playing for a while, and don't get overwhelmed with where you are, comparing to where others are in their experience with Sims 3. If you enjoy it as much as you seem to after two years of playing, there are so many things left for you to discover as you play ... And that's going to be awesome. Take a look around here and feel free to share.

Have A Lovely Day ... And By All Means, Happy Simming ... 💖
