List of Street Names... a beginning

Hi,

I know I keep running out of ideas for Street names and thought it would be fun to have a list to help.
I get tired of using the same Street name or ending them as Lane all the time to make it different.

So, if you need an idea, have an idea of names to share... just want to make fun of my list- Join the fun!

**Check out some of the Replies~Awwwwsoooome.

INTERESTING LONDON STREET NAMES -by Remmo
Perhaps a real life section of names that make you smile? Near me there's...

Effingham Road
Sims Walk
Ha-Ha Lane.

Deeper into London there's:
Recovery Street
Man In Moon Passage
Lamb's Conduit Street

And you wouldn't believe just how many very rude sounding ones there are in London that I just can't bring myself to type!

Some funny as well. My favourites are in Gloucestershire:
Upper and Lower Piddle
Wire Bottom

.................

dont recall seeing rise and hill as typical endings.

eg - Long Hill is a road in our area

In some place they use native/indigenous words for street and town names.

eg North America : eg Squamish, Niagra, ...etc
Australian : Joondalup, Kakadu, Burrendah

:D

Out here in the wild west of Las Vegas, I live in a development called Copperhead. I guess they fashioned it after the old west as some of the streets have names like:
Smoking Gun Court
Bronco Billy Way
Wagon Wheel Cir
Copperkeg
Defiance
When we were picking out the house and where it was to be placed, I told my husband there was no way I was living on Bronco Billy Court.

I decided to do desert names for Rattlesnake Ridge.

Kalahari
Namib
Owami
Sahara
Akshi
Gobi
Ordos
Taklamakan
Tahami
Accona
Olesky
Tabernas
Wahiba Sands
Mojave
Sonoran
Atacama
La Guajira
Sechura
Monte
Colorado
Ramlat
Piscinas
Rangipo
Kyzyl Kum
Kara Kum

And those are just the ones I found interesting. Here is an entire list of all the world's deserts...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_deserts

You could also do fish species - I've seen that in some towns built up because of proximity to a lake - Bass Avenue, Waleye Way, Guppy Street.

If you have a tropical paradise, look up what birds and reptiles might be there. Sea Turtle Grange would be a cool one :)

Have something up in the mountains - mountain range names. There's tons of those. Something that is a city - then why not chose city names.

Boston Boulevard
New York Strip
Las Vegas Parkway
San Diego Drive

Rocks would be an interesting thing to name streets after -

Gold Dust Circle
Granite Ridge Road
Feldespar Terrace

Those are what I can come up with right now :)

God Bless,
mik
